Jim Heath working in sculpture in wood, stone, metal; drawing and painting

Jim heath is a professional artist, best known for his large scale sculptures in wood.

Jim was originally an architectural woodcarver working on reproduction and restoration projects. He then began to apply those skills to indulge his artistic aspirations by making small sculptures of wildlife and mythological subjects. Since moving to Chirk in 1993 this aspect of his work expanded, in both scale and scope, to the point where it became the main focus of his business. He achieved a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at NEWI (now Glyndwr University)in 2005. Since then he has included mosaic, stone and metal in his sculpture and applied more of his time to drawing and painting.
In recent years he has concentrated on smaller works and spending more time teaching.
Jim exhibits regularly at The Willow Gallery in Oswestry, where he also demonstrates and runs short courses.
