Nature is my subject matter: being in nature is wonderfully uplifting, and my walks in the countryside and on the coast are a constant inspiration, especially the beautiful landscapes of the Ceiriog and Dee valleys and Offa's Dyke, close to my home.
I use a range of media in my art, principally acrylics, oil pastels, collage and printmaking techniques, and also layer, partially remove and cut into the painted surface to reflect the weathering and renewal of nature, and the light, shapes and textures of the places I visit.
I am co-organiser of Shrewsbury Life Drawing which is the source of my figurative work, and am a regular urban sketcher.
