I make paintings and ceramics inspired by nature. Although each piece has a starting point, inspired by a distant memory or a place in time, anything is possible within the composition during the process of painting. The works can therefore evolve to become entirely abstract through a deliberate release of conscious control. My paintings not meant as direct representations of place, more remembered interpretations of the atmosphere / spirit of a place.



My approach to ceramics is heavily influenced by my painting practice. I create organic forms using traditional hand building techniques that act as three dimensional surfaces for glazing.



Having recently relocated to Chirk Bank my current body of work is inspired by the stunning landscape that surrounds me.
